Following HAAM’s Exco Meeting on 22nd December 2021, it was decided during the Exco Meeting to raise some money in order to support the flood victims of Sri Muda as part of HAAM’s social concern project after the recent massive flood there. A WhatsApp message was uploaded onto the Henley Malaysia Alumni WhatsApp Group Chat on 22nd December evening to appeal to members to contribute towards the fund. Dato’ Yap had very kindly initiated the start of the contribution by pledging RM 500.00 toward the donation drive. Within a short span of two days, many HAAM’s members responded enthusiastically and RM 5,000.00 (Five Thousand) was raised. We thanked members for their good support and generosity on this matter.
Dato’ Yap Kuak Fong, the President of HAAM together with Deputy President, Derek Poon, Allen Cheong and Simon Lee went to Taman Sri Muda on 26th December and handed a cheque of RM 5,000.00 to Mr. Ganabatirau Veraman, the member of Selangor State Legislative Assembly for Kota Kemuning. We witnessed first hand the massive damages caused by the flood. We trust that our gesture of kindness will bring some relief to the flood victims.
