The University of Reading Malaysia and Henley Business School held their 2022 graduation ceremony on the 20th August 2022 at the beautiful venue of Fraser Place Residensi & Hotel Marina, Johor Bahru. Henley Alumni Association Malaysia (HAAM) was represented by its Chairman, Dato’ Yap Kuak Fong, Mr. Simon Lee & Mr. Allen Cheong all the way from Subang. Mr. Tony Hoe, Mr. Edward Ng and Ms. Otelli Low Chen Yee also attend the ceremony from JB.
The University conducted a very compact but solemn ceremony for the occasion. We witnessed more than 130 proud graduates for year 2022 receiving their hard-earn degree scrolls from Professor Paul Inman, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of University of Reading. Many graduates from the 2021 cohort also joined the ceremony to receive their degree scrolls as well since they missed out on their physical ceremony last year due to the pandemic. Dato’ Yap also sponsored and presented prizes to the two winners of Best Student Award from the Faculty of BA Business and Management and BSc Finance and Business Management of Henley Business School, UORM respectively.
Professor Dr. Teck Yong Eng also hosted lunch for all the representatives from HAAM including those from JB. Dr. Mohd-Pisal Zainal and Mr. Rudy Kana also joined in the lunch and there was a good exchange of ideas to start more alumni activities in JB with the ultimate objective of establishing an alumni chapter in Johor. The chapter in JB will help to facilitate networking of graduates from UORM and also help to promote UORM as a premium location for further study locally.
We urge graduates to sign up as members of HAAM in order to facilitate networking and maintain links with the University.
