Henley Alumni Association Malaysia (HAAM) hosted its Annual Dinner this year on Saturday, 8th March 2025 at the Tropicana Golf & Country Club. Some thirty (30) participants; including some guests of Dato’ Yap Kuak Fong & Allen Cheong attended the event. We also had one current student, Encik Aiman Zaquan, representing the Johor Chapter, attending the annual dinner all the way from JB. We are also very encouraged to have our strong supporters; Mr. Avienash Vilet and Dr. Francis Lee who attended this event regularly coming to this year’s event as usual and Dr. Francis Lee drove all the way from Penang to join us.
The evening started with Mr. Avienash Vilet chairing the event and welcoming Professor Teck Yong Eng, the Professor of Business Enterprise & Analytics who gave the opening speech to the event and updated participants on recent developments at Reading University/Henley Business School Malaysia. Dato’ Yap Kuak Fong then took to the stage and gave his speech for the night. Buffet dinner then followed in conjunction with ‘Buka Puasa’ time for our Muslim participant. Members were treated to a sumptuous dinner.
In breaking with past tradition, Mr. Allen Cheong, HAAM’s Honorary Treasurer, was the keynote speaker this year. Mr. Allen Cheong gave us a very interesting presentation on his recent trip in December 2024 to the Antarctica in his presentation. Mr. Allen Cheong presented many interesting photos and shared his wonderful experiences and encounters for his trip. For those of us who have never been to that part of the world, the presentation by Mr. Allen Cheong was indeed a very refreshing and insightful learning experience.
