University of Reading Malaysia & Henley Business School Graduation Ceremony 2025

The University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) and Henley Business School (HBS) held their 2025 graduation ceremony on the 16th August 2025 at the Fraser Place Residensi & Hotel Marina, Johor Bahru. Dato’ Yap Kuak Fong, the President of Henley Alumni Association Malaysia (HAAM), Mr. Allen Cheong & Mr. Simon Lee represented HAAM and attended this happy occasion all the way from Subang. Mr. Edward Ng, the Deputy Honorary Secretary, also came back from his workplace in Singapore to attend the ceremony.

The University conducted a seamless and solemn ceremony for the occasion. After the opening speech by Provost of UoRM, Professor Dr. May Tan-Mullins, some 129 proud graduates for the year 2025 received their hard-earn degree scrolls from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of University of Reading, Dr. Caroline Baylon. Dato’ Yap, sponsored and presented two prizes to two of the award-winning students from the Faculty of BSc Business and Management and BSc Finance and Business Management of Henley Business School, UoRM. Ms. Najwa Binti Hasnun from the BSc Business and Management programme and Mr. Jeremy Foster A/L David from the BSc Finance and Business Management programme won the best students prizes respectively.

Mr. Martin Goh Ping Lun represented graduating students by giving a very touching and uplifting speech to students and audiences. Dr. Caroline Baylon gave the concluding speech for the day and thereafter invited guests of the University to join the lunch at the coffee house of the hotel hosted by UoRM.

After lunch, at 4.30 pm, there was also an Alumni Networking Session at the university campus. The Provost and CEO of the University of Reading Malaysia, Professor May Tan-Mullins, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), Dr Caroline Baylon, hosted the Alumni Networking Session and updated attendees on the history of University of Reading UK and the coming 100 years anniversary of the University in 2026. Many exciting programmes have been planned to celebrate the centenary of the University. These celebrations will be announced in due time.

During the evening from 7.30 pm onward, there was also an Alumni Cocktail Evening session at the Sunway Big Box, Sunway Hotel and some 40 alumni young and old and members of the university academicians gathered to have a time of networking over beer, wine and delicious finger foods.
